The Varsity baseball team lost at Clinton Central Tuesday evening by a score of 5-2. The Hornets jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first with a two RBI double by Ben Pettry. The Hornet bats went silent after that, though, as Rossville was only able to muster one more hit–a Pettry single in the top of the 6th. Brayton Cooper pitched for the Hornets and took the loss. He threw a complete game allowing only three earned runs while striking out 7 and allowing 8 hits against just two walks. The Hornets are now 4-5 overall and 2-1 in the conference. They are back in action again this evening against Clinton Central. The first pitch is set for 4:45.
