Multiple Teams · Senior Spotlight Jensen Sheets

Jensen Marie Sheets

Jensen was born March 15, 1996. Her parents are Janet and Joe Sheets. Her brother, Jordan, graduated from Rossville in 2007, he played basketball and was in track and graduated from Purdue in 2011. Jensen has attended every Hornet track meet for the past 12 years, either watching her brother or running herself. She has been a cheerleader and in track since middle school.

In her Sophomore year, during cheerleading, she tore the ACL (Anterior Crucial Ligament) of her right knee and was told not to expect to run track in the spring. With a lot of hard work, determination, and perseverance she kept her dreams alive, and not only ran in her next race within six months of reconstructive knee surgery, but went on to break several track records. In her Junior year she broke a 30 year school record in the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.3 seconds, and was the anchor in the 4×1 relay team, that broke a 27 year school record with a time of 52.74 seconds. In the 2012 Hoosier Heartland Conference Meet she broke a meet record in the 200m dash and was Conference and County Champ in the 100m dash, 200m dash, and 4×1 relay. She went on to win a Sectional title in the 100m and 200m, advancing to Regionals in the 100m, 200m, and 4×1 relay.

Jensen is in the process of deciding which college to attend to pursue her interest of working in the field of Special Education.
