Multiple Teams · Senior Spotlight Amy Murphy

Amy Kathleen Murphy was born January 19, 1996 in Newark, Delaware to David and Ginny (Rodkey) Murphy.  Amy moved to Rossville when she was 3 years old to become a Rossville Hornet!  She has wanted to be a “sheerdaleader” since she was a very little girl.  That dream became a reality in 5th grade when she was part of a very large 5th grade squad!!  Amy is always looking for fun and finds that on the squad with

her cheerleading buddies.  Amy has served as a co-captain since her sophomore year and is the head captain this year.  Making the JV squad her freshmen year and cheering with her cousin Bailey was a highlight of her cheer career as well as winning the prestigious Alisha Harrison Award her junior year.

While cheer is probably her favorite high school activity, Amy is also involved in FFA, SL, NHS, PEERS project, HS Ambassadors and when running didn’t go so well freshmen year in track she became the track manager.  She is also involved in the musical productions and Prime Time.  In her free time she enjoys babysitting and slinging pizzas at Arnis as a way to support her other favorite pastime…SHOPPING!!!!

Amy would like to pursue a career in Occupational Therapy with a focus on children.  She very much enjoys peer tutoring in the special needs classroom in the elementary.  At this time, no decision has been made about college choice.  No doubt the Murphy household will be very quiet this time next year unless Nick takes up playing the tuba!!!!
